GAME 4 ALSO DRAWN; KRAMNIK LEADS 3-1 WITH 8 GAMES LEFT
Like Game 3, Game 4 of the reunification World Championship Match between Veselin Topalov and Vladimir Kramnik was a very complicated draw.
Topalov (White) held an initiative throughout the entire game, and Kramnik (Black) had to play carefully to neutralize the Bulgarian's aggressive play. "Vesko's" pressing efforts to win eventually led to nought, as Kramnik was able to just hold the balance and the game was agreed drawn when the players entered a clearly equal
endgame.
This match has so far had no "boring draws," as many past World Championship matches have had. Maybe this has to do with the shorter match length and the players not wishing to waste any opportunities?
