SCHOLASTIC CHESS SEASON KICKS OFF WITH COLUMBIA GRAMMAR TOURNAMENT

This past Friday, September 29, the 2006-2007 scholastic chess tournament season began with the very popular tournament held at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School on Manhattan's Upper West Side.

The tournaments are always held on Fridays, several times during each school year. There are 7 sections: Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and then Classic, Reserve, and Premier. The Premier section draws students in the 1200-1300 range, and this time was won by Dylan Kosinski.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the tournament! To see the USCF-Rated results, click here.
