A "simul" (short for "simultaneous exhibition") is when a stronger player plays against many weaker players at the same time. The stronger player, moves from board to board, usually taking the white pieces in every game, and plays a move. The opponents do not play their reply until the master has returned to their board. When the simul-giver returns, the opponent plays their next move, and the exhibitor plays the reply, often instantly.
