Preceding the reporting of results of the wild elections that took place across the country, NYChessKids held an Election Day Workshop on Tuesday, November 7.
The workshop lasted from 10am-3pm, and there was one topic: chess! This is in contrast to our usual chess camps where we have video games, movies, and outdoor exercise during the day.
The workshop drew a "lucky" 13 attendees, including some first-timers to NYChessKids events! The students came ready to work, and work they did! We managed a lesson every hour of the event! This volume of work is unusual for NYChessKids events, but the students were ready to do it and the teachers rose to the challenge. The students soaked in what the instructors (Saudin Robovic, Gregory Cesar, and Andre Harding) taught like a sponge.
The next Workshop will be held on Monday, November 13 from 12pm-5pm at the same location (see below).

12:00pm-12:45pm First session (puzzles solving)
12:45am-1:00pm Snack
1:00pm-1:45pm Second session (demonstration lesson or projector lesson)
1:45pm-2:15pm Lunch
2:15pm-4:00pm Third session (tournament game with clocks, writing,analysis of each game as it is completed)
4:15pm-5:00pm Fourth session (endgames, demo lesson)
