TOPALOV WILL MAINTAIN LEAD AFTER 11 ROUNDS

With games still in progress, one result is in that will ensure that Veselin Topalov maintains at least a half-point lead in the Corus A tournament at Wijk aan Zee: Teimour Radjabov drew World Champion Vladimir Kramnik with Black, giving the second-place Radjabov 7 out of 11.

Topalov had a huge advantage over four-time Russian Champion Peter Svidler on the Black side of a Sicilian Najdorf, but it seems he has let Svidler escape into a superior ending! If Topalov loses, his lead will decrease to one-half point, if he draws his lead will remain a full point, and if he wins his lead will increase to 1.5 points.

The big game will be on Saturday, as Topalov will have white against Vladimir Kramnik!

The final round will be played on Sunday.
