COLUMBUS DAY WORKSHOP MONDAY, OCTOBER 9


On Columbus Day, October 9, NYChessKids will once again hold its Columbus Day Workshop. This is a chess-intensive day, with the lessons condensed into a 10:00am-3:00pm day. There will be no outdoor exercise component, as there is with the summer camps. Snacks are provided and pizza is provided for lunch; students are welcome to bring their own snacks and lunch. To get an idea of what the day is like, a sample schedule is below:

This schedule applies to the Columbus Day Workshop on Monday, October 9 and to the Election Day Workshop on Tuesday, November 7. Price: $70.00

SCHEDULE:
10:00am-10:45am First session (puzzles solving)
10:45am-11:00am Snack
11:00am-11:45am Second session (demonstration lesson or projector lesson)
11:45am-12:15pm Lunch
12:15pm-2:00pm Third session (tournament game with clocks, writing,analysis of each game as it is completed)
2:15pm-3:00pm Fourth session (endgames, demo lesson)
3:30pm-5:00pm Party, open to all our students! (Even if not attending workshop)

LOCATION:The Episcopal Church 240 East 31 street

During New York City Public School Half-Days, we will also hold workshops and these will have the same schedule, except that everything will be two hours later, so that the day runs from 12pm to 5pm.

For the NYChessKids Public School Half-Day Workshops on Monday, November 13, 2006, Tuesday, March 20, 2007, Monday, June 4, 2007, and Tuesday, June 12, 2007. Price: $70.00
