The Cross-Generation Chess Tournament series was inaugurated last year by organizer Renée Yarzig. The latest event was held Sunday, October 22 at the Central Harlem Senior Citizens' Coalition Center, 120 West 140th Street.
The concept of the tournament series is for children to play chess with senior citizens, in a non-pressurized, fun environment. For students who enjoy playing chess but not participating in chess tournaments, or for those who want something a little different, we highly recommend the Cross-Generation events.
At each event, there are refreshments and musicians play for the enjoyment of the participants.
