This DVD is the compilation of two VHS instructional tapes that cover different aspects of chess, but most of all the middlegame. If the Opening is the "mobilization phase," and the Endgame is the "conclusion," then the middlegame is the "battle phase."By calmly taking the viewer through a series of games and positions, Seirawan helps retention tremendously. He also includes footage from tournaments: some of the footage from blitz games he has played against other Grandmasters is always the most popular portion of the video for students! They love the excitement of the GMs playing lightning-fast!
